Home>REGISTER YOUR EVENT IN THE SOUTHERN GRAMPIANS EVENTS CALENDAR
| 4 November 2009 | | Southern Grampians Shire Council is calling for registrations for upcoming events to be promoted in the January to June 2010 Southern Grampians Events Calendar.
The events calendar is used as a promotional tool to raise awareness and encourage residents and visitors to attend major events and festivals in our Shire.
The calendar is distributed regionally to key Visitor Information Centre’s and locally to accommodation, attractions and hospitality providers as well as new residents to the Shire. It is also used as marketing material at trade shows, media launches, conferences and other regional promotions.
Southern Grampians Shire Council Director Shire Futures Michael McCarthy said the calendar is a great way for residents and visitors to find out what events are happening across the Shire over the next six months.
“We are fortunate to have access to a wide variety of quality events in the Shire. Planning for many of the events is well underway including; ‘Harvest on the Hill’ Food and Wine Event in the Hamilton Botanic Gardens, two major Cycling events, a Basketball Tournament and Farmers Markets. The strong events program in our Shire continues to provide economic and social benefits to our community and adds to our tourist drawing power.
“I encourage organisations and groups from across the Shire to register their events and festivals for regional promotion in the Southern Grampians Events Calendar,” Mr McCarthy added.
If your organisation or group is holding an event or festival during January to June 2010 and would like it to be included in the calendar, please contact Council’s Events Coordinator Sardie Edgar on 5573 0239 by Friday 16 November 2009.
Registration forms can also be downloaded from Council’s website at www.sthgrampians.vic.gov.au/eventscalendar. | |
